Learn about the most popular Games:
Roulette: This is the original spin-the-wheel game; lots of anticipation and a chance to win at big odds. The roulette wheel has 37 numbers from 0 to 36, alternately colored red and black. The table has the same 37 numbers plus twelve boxes where you can choose from a range of fixed odds bets for odd or even numbers, red or black numbers or numbers within a certain range. When you arrive at the table, ask the croupier for “a colour please” and exchange your chips for the same value in your colour. You can place bets at any time until the croupier announces “no more bets” and at this point the ball is rolling. The ball will stop in one of the numbers on the roulette wheel and that's the winning number. After each spin, all losing bets are removed and winning bets are paid out at the specified odds. A bet placed on the winning number will win at 35 to 1 and on a colour it's even money. Your croupier will advise you on the other combinations.
Blackjack: If you have played 21, then you understand the basics of this enjoyable and popular game. The dealer deals all players two cards plus one card to themselves. Moving clockwise the dealer offers each player the option of further cards. The aim is to get as close to 21 without going over, in which case you are termed as "bust" and lose your stake. Once all players have taken cards to the maximum of their choice, the dealer deals himself cards until they have a minimum of 17, at which point, they will not draw any more cards. The winning players who have scored more than the dealer will win at even money. If you have a blackjack (a picture card and an ace ) you will win at 2 to 1. All players with the same total as the dealer retain their stake money. Your dealer will advise you on other options such as doubling or split bets.
Poker: The original wild west card game. To play, you have to decide on your initial bet and once all players have made their initial bet, the dealer deals each player five cards face down plus five to themselves; the last dealer card is placed face up. Once all players and the dealer have the five cards, each player reviews their hand; if they believe that they have a winning hand they will place the cards face down and raise their bet by doubling the stake money. Any player deciding not to continue will fold and lose their stake bet. Once all players have raised their stake, the dealer shows the other 4 cards in their hand; if they don’t have an ace and a king then they lose and all players retain their stake. If the dealer has an ace and king, they then compare their hand against each of the players. If the dealers hand beats a player, then they lose their total bet. If the players hand beats the dealer, then they win at the odds displayed by the dealer.
Texas Hold 'Em: Increasingly popular poker variant. Hold 'em is a community poker game where each player may use any combination of the five community cards and their own two hole cards to make a hand - in contrast to poker games like stud or draw where each player holds a separate individual hand. It's popularity has surged recently due to mass media exposure and it has actually replaced 7-card stud as the most common game in casinos. Because each player starts with only two cards and the remaining cards are shared, it presents an opportunity for strategic analysis (including mathematical analysis) The most commonly recommended strategy involves playing relatively few hands but betting and raising often with the hands one plays.
